Yesterday I put my MP up to check my gutters for leaves. I launched from the grass off the middle of my patio in the back of my house. HP was established. I flew all around the house about 5 ft. above the gutters inspecting them and the 6 downspouts. After the last downspout, I hit RTH. The MP was maybe 15-20 ft. above HP. RTH altitude was set at 100ft. (I think, maybe higher.) The last downspout (where I hit RTH) was 15 +/- meters from HP.

I expected the MP to climb to 100ft and then RTH. Instead, it went direct to the HP at it's current altitude....fortunately there were no obstacles in it's path and it landed normal precision landing.

I looked at the manual this morning and I don't see these actions described in the return RTH section.

Anyone know what I am missing or why this happened?

Now my question ....
Why would you use RTH when the drone is that close?

When you invoke RTH from so close to the home point you get a series of actions where it is quite easy to confuse what the drone is appearing to be doing with what it is actually doing.

Depending on your RTH setting (standard vs enhanced) the drone can subtly rise to 32 ft AS it goes back to home point with its 'optimised' path, which might not involve that rise happening first if the way back is clear of obstacles.

Never mind all, I guess I should've looked at the log first.

Data shows IMU altitude of 37.1 ft. when RTH was initiated...that explains it. I just don't remember it being that high...getting old, I guess.

To answer...
My 4 year old grandson was with me and I wanted to show him how cool MP RTH/Precision Landing was!!! HAHA
