MP orientation

Hi guys, I am new drone pilot. Today I went to the beach and took my bird out for a fly. The problem is when I looked at the map on the left side of my cs monitor I oriented the the red arrow towards the home point but the drone was going in the opposite direction that is , away from me. I am not sure why it reacted that way but I finally got her home and did a compass calibration. However I think I am reading the map incorrect. Can someone explain this to me please?

On the map click the little n-s needle and the map will turn around and will be facing the right direction..
