When I showed up to fly the mission I thought... man, there's a lot of trees here, this is going to be tough.

As the headline says, for a split second I lost VLOS trying to get over some trees to frame a shot, and my brain engaged with a 'I should push the left stick up' but it was too late! (I was flying sideways framing a shot).

She was firmly wedged about 55 feet up and going nowhere. Late in the day, no one with a bucket truck answering their phones. The next day called a tree trimming co. the town over and I threw a hale Mary. She was plucked from the branches - not a scratch on her. The props did need to be replaced and I flew 2 missions with zero warnings or issues. I feel like the luckiest person right now, and man was I stressed out for about 17 hours.

The next time I show up and my instincts tell me not to fly, that it's too dangerous, I'm going to listen to myself.

Sounds like there would be plenty of drone tree rescue business around. I hope I am never there but keep it in the back of your mind if you ever do it again. Depending where the drone is, other trees limbs etc I am sure some would be able to be rescued by tying a line to another drone and possibly drape over the branch bring the rescue drone back down to the ground with the line. Hope I never have to try this.
