There are a couple advantages to each model.
First the similarities...
They will both fly well in modest wind conditions. Under "normal" lighting situations they will both take very good images in most circumstances.
Differences...
The
Mavic 2 is heavier, has stronger motors which gives it a little more margin in stronger wind conditions. Negligable, but there.
Transportation and storage. The
MA2 drone itself is lighter and somewhat smaller than the M2, but the
MA2'
s controller is massive and heavier than the
Mavic 2 controller, requiring more case real estate. Some prefer the feel of one controller, some like the other.
Photos/video. The
MA2 has a great zoom feature lacking in the
Mavic 2 Pro, though available in the
M2Z. However, the
Mavic 2 Pro will be superior in low light situations. It also has an adjustable aperture, lacking in all the other Mavic models (except
M2Z whose aperture closes from f2.8 to f3.8 in zoom mode, like more zoom lenses). The
MA2 has a fixed f2.8 aperture which may require ND filters for cinematic footage while the
Mavic 2 Pro has an adjustable aperture and will have more flexibility in this regard.
The
Mavic Air 2 has some unique features lacking in the
Mavic 2 Pro, but then again the
M2P has some other features. It depends on what your needs are. I own a
Mavic 2 Pro and while I am very happy with it, I think the
Mavic Air 2 punches way above it's price point. I think it's up to what you think you need. They both have their place.
