hi Charles good choice the new 7th gen 2019 ipad since i went over from android no issues at all and the large screen is great for the old eyes just disable cache to device in app settings get rid of all apps not needed to fly and get a good quality cable to go from the bottom USB to the ipad i have one from TDW £15 can fly 5 batts and still have 65% battery in controller and around 75% in ipad even though my ipad is the 6th gen 9.7 inch if you dont mind slightly older tech they have some good deals on them at the moment
