That is a very worthy use of drones and actually makes sense. That would be great!Nice. I thought the same except with the drone perched on the roof top attached with magnets. Then I thought the state should supply a couple of DOT drones that fly up and down the traffic way broadcasting images on the public wifi traffic channel so all vehicles can tap into the picture. A dozen drones taking turns two by two in each direction on waypoints and a couple of roaming FPVs and a few tethered stationary drones should be able to work the morning rush hour. I think this would take some of the pressure off the drivers in their vehicles.
im just playing around and posting tongue in cheek. Many rules that prevent this in realityThere is a company that makes docks for roof/luggage racks. I know a guy with one on his car (not truck). His drone is the M3E. The dock stays closed and locked while driving and just looks like one of those aerodynamic luggage cases that you see all over the place.
Decent idea, but VLOS is always a consideration, as well as flying over roads/people (without waivers obv). Not sure why we'd need drones for traffic monitoring when there are 24/7 mounted stationary cameras in most high traffic areas...?
