Hi
@sand4man ... Welcome to the forum ...
If the
Mavic 2 Pro is your first drone, you are on a steep learning curve. You have purchased a very sophisticated piece of flying electronics and camera equipment. I know you want to just let this thing go off on auto-pilot - But - can I suggest the following:
1) If the weather is bad outside, don't succumb to the idea that you can fly your new drone indoors!
2) Even if the weather is good outside - still don't fly indoors!
3) Download the latest DJI manual for your drone (
Mavic 2 - Specifications, FAQs, Videos, Tutorials, Manuals - DJI), and study it.
4) Make a list of questions regarding things the manual doesn't explain well enough for you, and then look those things up on YouTube.
5) Hit YouTube like crazy for beginners guides regarding pre-flight and first-flight checks so that you know the basics of how the Mavic flies, and what the various different parts of the DJI Go4 application do.
6) Do some basic 'lazy' squares flying left square followed by right square in front of you in a big field, so you can get used to how the controls are backwards as the drone comes toward you. Do this first in 'Tripod' mode, so the drone is doing everything very stable, and very slow!
7) Once you get to that stage, you can then start to look up YouTube vid's about 'Waypoints' and how that works. That will do what you want - but I can just about guarantee the if you don't go through steps 1 to 6 first, you'll be one of those folks posting on this forum, with a story about how your drone was lost!
