New Firmware V 01.00.0860

I’m glad it’s not supported personally. No way I would want to use a $800 controller to control my little Mini 2 but that’s me.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Mini 2 supported on the Smart Controller, I currently have the Phantom 4 v2, Mavic 2 Pro, and the Mavic Air 2 linked to my SC, adding my Mini 2 would complete my Fleet, with the exception of my P4 original, and Mavic Air original, the SC eliminates having to depend on my cell phone as a monitor, and all in all, is a faster setup.

After connecting my SC to my (Windows 10) desktop and before I could start DJI Assistant 2 for Mavic, the SC screen showed a message that new firmware was available. I agreed to download it. The download went smoothly and permission to install the update was asked - and granted. It was executed without any problems. I didn't see any messages about updating firmware for the AC (M2P) nor batteries. Since I have not yet flown.

My experience:
Started the download to the SC. It was at 13 - 14% when I remembered I was supposed to remove the SD card. Well, being as I was that far along I just let it run. Went past 16% with no hesitation. Took a couple of minutes (no more than that) to get past 98%.

Did the Install. It did seem to "hold" at 16% but only for a couple of minutes. Finished with no problem.

Powered up the AC, paired to the SC. Message said it was upgrading the AC firmware to V01.00.0511. Took a few minutes, then all was done and well. Turned off the AC and the SC.

I still have the original controller so I powered it up and powered up the AC, as I want to keep both controllers up to date. Message said it was updating the MA2 firmware to 02.00.1200. What??? Update successful, shut everything off.

So can anyone tell me why I got two (2) separate updates for the AC? Is either one going to affect the other?

Also, I never did see anything about updating the batteries.
The 02.00.1200 firmware is for the RC so that the RC is compatible with the MM2.
The AC will still be V01.00.0511

same thing happened with me…… I did not get the warning to update the battery until I flew for the first time. I was able to update the battery without a network connection.

I found that if you performed an OTA firmware update (Over the Air, using app), it is best to restart everything with the next battery to update.

I noticed the advantage of less noise with birds in my river shots, compared to my M2Z, which I have lots of experience. I can get much closer to birds with the Mini2, and other animals too. You can try this yourself if you have a lake or river nearby, maybe with small birds, ducks or geese. Try to get shots like mine up close with your MA2. It's pretty amazing how the Mini2 allows closer proximity to animals before they get spooked. I think it's not only the low noise, but the smaller size that appears less intimidating, plus harder to see.
I will get one when the SC supports it. I am no longer using phone or tablet for flying, so no Mini2 for me, yet.

Hey Rp1,
Thanks for the play by play. We expect the same info when you take the vaccine, please.:)
Just seen your post...So..... Got a email from VA asking for Veterans last month for third trail of Vaccine still in line to be released (AstraZeneca?). Looked at the VA hospitals that were hosting trial. Mine was listed, so I signed up online through the VA to participate. I was contacted (Email) a few days later that I was accepted. I scheduled a visit the following day. I was stopped at entrance of VA and had a temp check and masked up and then after a short wait, escorted into building.

I was seated in a wing with a small waiting room with 4-5 other chaps. Took a number and when called went back to the lab section. Took a seat, swabbed my arm with alcohol. looked away..and was injected ;)

Arm was sore the next day, no other symptoms. Arm was normal about 3 days from any residual. I go back in about a week to check for antibodies or possible booster...unsure which at this point...End report :p

Of note: I had my yearly exam with blood work done some months earlier..my Dr. reported that I was already showing positive for Covid antibodies. He inquired if I had been sick prior, as I had not, he then noticed that I had been inoculated with some strain of malaria or vaccine (I am no Doctor) before going to serve in Panama to take out Noriega. He was questionable of my results and said he would forward such to proper doctors with inquiry...I have heard nothing back on that.

Today completed the update OTA, with no problems.
I skipped the previous update, and as always connected to mobile internet via mobile phone. Haven't flown yet, but so far so good.

Saturday 1/16/2021 at 0900 MST. The whole process took 20 minutes from start to the last boot. No issues. The download took about 8 minutes at 100 Mbps. The earlier posts was probably due to lots of downloads on a weekday.

Great flying to all - 60% through my 107 Instruction.
