This is what I have with RC Pro 2. I did watch a video that demo'd the new firmware and the zoom function. It showed the user pressing the 2.5x while transitioning from 1x. I was trying to zoom past the 2.5x with the right wheel for zoom. Even though this is how I would want it to work maybe that is not how it is to be used. Will try again pressing the 2.5x while recording.
Edit:
Wishful thinking, it doesn't work with the right wheel while zooming. I still have to manually select the camera. It does what it says but only saves 2 button presses.

Still waiting on new DJI Support responds.
So far it was only basic trouble shooting steps like recalibration which I told them in the beginning I already did and reflashing the firmware.

Btw on issues with the drone.
can you guys hear the aperture of the main camera moving/clicking while it auto adjusts to changing brightness between shots/recordings?

Yea, their support (just like any support) is just trying to follow the book, "do this, do that, blah blah blah..."

I did notice some clicking, not sure though, if it was related to changing brightness, mine was when I was moving the drone around in my hand. I have downgraded back to .0200 and I am super happy with it. No clicking, jerking, POI follow-me mode works like a charm. I will wait for DJI release a new FW hopefully fixing these anomalies we noticed on our drones

Can't tell if it war there before.
Just noticed while handling the drone a lot while not flying.

Sounds like this:

Sitting on a table and shortly blocking the camera with my hand.
Definitely the aperture.

I have the same issue after updating the firmware to the latest version .0300. How do you downgrade firmware? Do you need to use dji assistant 2?
Maybe not an issue while flying (don’t know) but it’s annoying.

Thanks in advance,
Edoardo

Yes, use DJI Assistant 2 (you can get it here), install it, then just connect the drone via USB-C cable to your computer, launch the app, it should recognize the drone and offer you FW update/downgrade. I used it to get my drone back to .0200

Is anyone aware of a method to revert to an earlier version of the Fly App on the RC 2 controller? It appears that the loss of the camera zoom function happened when I upgraded from 1.18.1 to 1.18.2. It was not resolved in 1.18.3.

Only way would be is to try and sideload the app via an .APK file using apk pure or something similar.

Not that I need it but does anyone know if it will install on a Windows 7 machine? Drivers are not installing. I'm trying to install DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drone Series)

Not sure about older versions of Windows. I run mine on WIN11 without any issues. There is Mac version as well, I have not try that one

It won't install on Windows versions older than Win 10 because of drivers.

I Use it on Mac and it works great.

I wonder if DJI is aware of this gimbal clicking issue, that many of us reported. Also that follow-me mode jerking, that was the main reason I reverted my FW back to .0200. As I said earlier, I will stick to .0200 and keep my eyes open for new firmware for the drone, hopefully fixing those issues

That explains it. I guess if I ever need to use it, I'd have to use wife's laptop. 🤞

I've also noticed that since updating to v01.00.0300, the automatic transition from camera to camera when zooming does not occur. Are others seeing the same thing?
The automatic transition during zooming across all 3 cameras only works in Explore Mode, which must be selected first. This creates one continuous video file.

The new Normal mode camera switching creates separate files for each camera when selecting a different camera during video recording. Instead of having to stop recording on one and restart on another camera, it does that for you when you select a different camera during video recording. No stop and restart. Just select the other camera.

I just picked up a brand new Mavic 4 Pro yesterday and I’m having the exact same gimbal issue. I haven’t even flown it yet—just tried testing the camera indoors—and the gimbal keeps clicking and jerking, making the footage completely unusable.

Have you heard anything back from DJI yet? If you’re okay with it, could you share the message you sent them so I can use it as a reference for my own claim? Also, please send the link where you reported the bug. I will try to downgrade the firmware this weekend.

Has anyone with this issue experienced problems when recording video during flight or is it just while holding the drone?

I have had no issues on the latest firmware. Video in flight is smooth, no signs of glitching. I don't hand hold the M4P to video but I did test it after hearing some having this issue. I don't have any clicking sounds moving it around while hand holding. The only time it seems to glitch is when I roll it about 45°-60° and occasionally does a gimbal reset if I hit the limit. All seems normal to me.
