New to the drone world but have some experience with video and this is what drew me to the mavic – to get some aerial footage and also dolly/crane shots to spice up my small nature docos on youtube.
It's so easy to fly but on my second day a catastrophic crash into water put my plans on hold for a while. The crash was caused by the remote disconnecting from the AC and the AC rising into tree branches before crashing into a nearby waterhole. Given the drone was hovering right in front of me when it disconnected and that I had excellent satellite coverage, DJI replaced the AC under warranty and it was put down to a malfunction.
Now with a new drone I've had several successful small flights but there is so much to learn, and for a non gamer is takes a lot of co-ordination to not only pilot the AC but get the camera/gimbal going smoothly at the same time.
Look forward to learning a lot on this forum and contributing where I can.
