New pilot, got few questions

I just got the mavic 3 days back, and Im confused about some thing.

1. I dont see TRACE, SPOTLIGHT, PROFILE mode when I click ACTIVE TRACK. Why ?

2. Follow Mode doesnt work, it says, very close altitude, when I take it above 10 meter, its very far and I tried to point the camera completely down, still it doesnt do anything.

3. POI mode says, very close, when I take it above 10 meter, its very far and I tried to point the camera, it still doesn't do anything.

I saw many videos on Youtube about POI and active track (with arrow moved to right wards), it does nice circles, but Im not sure how to achieve that.

Also, in youtube videos, the active track videos are very close. Why my aircraft tells me, to go more altitude and more far ?
Why cant I film close by ?

4. Whats the right adjuster button for, like the right is for gimbal tilt ?

5. Gimbal tilt was very fast, so I adjusted as per tom,

But its very slow, and isnt very responsive, means, I move the ring, and it keeps on moving until it goes to end, while I have already let the ring go, since I want to stay at a perfect place. but it goes off.

6. There is a button on the right side of pause button, I have set it to gimbal tilt, but it does immediate motion, top and bottom. Can we see it smooth ?

And If I move that dial, left or right, it doesnt do anything.
Can we move the gimbal left and right too ?

Is the message "very close altitude"? When exactly do you see that message?

You can use it to adjust camera settings like the ISO and shutter speed.

I move the ring, and it keeps on moving until it goes to end, while I have already let the ring go, since I want to stay at a perfect place. but it goes off.

Tom's exact setting isn't best for everyone. Decrease the "Gimbal Pitch Smoothness" setting so the camera doesn't take as long to come to a complete stop when tilting.

No.

You can configure the left/right 5D button actions in the following section of DJI GO:

Can we move the gimbal left and right too?

No. You must yaw the aircraft.

Yes.

It's set to zoom by default. You can change the action to something else if you don't need to zoom.

When is a situation you need zoom?

I haven't found a use for it yet.

I took off, slides the option.
It hovers to 1 meter above ground.
It says, home point updated, RTH altitude updated 30M.

Then I took more 2-3 meter above ground.
then went to FOLLOW ME and enabled , it said, low altitude.
Take to 10 or above.
I took to 10 or above, and then it did not say anything, but I kept walking, it did not do anything.


nwxt I clicked on POI, and it let me choose the point, but I chose the point, it simply did not do anything, since it was very far, like 12 meter altitude high.

Howcome I see videos with less than 5 meter high, but doing nice car or cycle circling videos at such low heights ?

It sounds like you're not engaging those flight modes properly. You can find instructions on using those flight modes here.

You will not see those options until you select the target. See an example here:

active also does the same, it tells me low altitude, cannot work.
It asks me to go high to work.

How is everyone else achieving such low angle with active track, POI etc ?

I don't see anyone trying to use those flight modes while 2 meters from the ground.

This looks less than 5 meters even.
Just take over hover height at max.
But still its active tracking.

GPS are there, battery is 90%, why red lights then ?
Can we see this in log to know why ?

in sports mode, does all sensors stop working ?

Yes.

during every flight over the sea, do we need to switch off the VPS?

VPS should work just fine when flying over water in most cases. You might have to disable it if flying close to the surface of the water though.
