Good evening I'm new to this forum as I just bought a Mavic mini and so far it's a get flyer.

You picked a winner in the Mini. Don't be put off by its small size and low price. It's a high performance quad with a great camera. I hope that your Mini being under 250 grams, won't be subject to some of the TC restrictions. Our Canadian members can tell you.
Just be careful flying in high winds. Read the manual, and practice lost drone recovery. Believe me, you will crash your mini, and you will lose your mini. Don't wait until that happens to learn how to recover a lost drone.
Lots of neat stuff to shoot all over Canada. Whenever you need help, there are over 100,000 of us here to provide guidance as you grow as a pilot and photographer. Just ask!

Welcome to the forum from Chicago the Windy City. The MM is small, one of the main cause of losing a MM are windy conditions. I have a app on my tablet that tells me wind conditions. With my MP, I don't fly when winds are over 10 miles per hour. Also, have a preflight check list, to make sure RC is fully charged, Ipad fully charged, battery's at full charge. Good to check After take off, I like to check all directions on both sticks carefully. Stability
Vertical/Horizontal. Satellites Green- SAFE TO FLY. And, very important what to do in a Emergency, what procedure to take to get your drone home safe. What to do if you lose satelite connection. As already mentioned do research, good to read manual, a book of instructions, which most of us save for later. Fly safe.
