Night fireworks focus/halo issue

Attempted for first time fireworks footage. In prep I had multiple "gimbal disconnected" messages that would clear themselves on their own or a drone reset. This is the footage I ended up with. Nothing done in post. Looking around, I should have switched to manual focus. Any other tips? What is the "halo" effect from?

There is an option in the menu to shut the red led when recording. Check that box it will stop the red glow.
