I've never used it before so I don't know what it covers but I doubt it covers a flyaway. When you buy most anything on Amazon, you can pay for damage insurance which is what this is.

Correct, but not everyone who bought one flies it, and some would be happy to resell it to you, as the CostCo return policy on drones is only 90 days, which has already expired on all sales.

Otherwise, you have to pay them on top of the selling price!

If you read through the thread, he is really now more interested in upgrading to the Mini 4 Pro where he can still use his Mini 3 Pro batteries.
Regardless, the link to the seller you helpfully provided, also sells both, so the OP can now choose which he wants, thanks to your helpful link, where this seller explicitly states,

That's the key.
On the seller's other listings for Matrice 4T and 4E units, he disclaims all responsibility for tariffs!

That's a good question. I've used Asurion before but not for UAS devices. That would be a question for Asurion/Amazon to answer.
I don't believe it does. The insurance (unlike DJI care refresh) has no way to know if your drone flew away or if you gave it away and the insurance has no way to lock it down. You can check for me details here: Asurion Protection Plan?
