I have a question: if I fly over the sea/lake and my Mavic crashes because a fail due to factory defects (not my fault) will DJI refund me?

DJI will most likely never refund you, but they may give you a new drone if you can provide the logs and they determine it was due to factory defect.

Yes, new drone was what I meant for "refund".
Is not easy to get the log information if it crashes on water, I guess.

There are logs recorded on your device also.
