Welcome to the forum.
If you read the rumour mills, the guesswork is the Air 2 will be far superior in many ways.
If and when released . . . some think April ?

I wouldn't hold my breath on it, and even if it were true, after the mini release I simply wouldn't trust any new DJI tech until it had been on the market for some considerable time, and bugs and problems worked out.

Are you thinking of the Mavic Pro, as in the M1P ?
If so, I would look to go for the Mavic Pro Platinum MPP, with it's slightly different ESC motors and improved props (though you can run the 8331 props on the M1P, and they are great !).
Tried and tested, they are very reliable, stable etc.

If you are thinking of the M2P or M2Z, then these are also great aircraft, and very stable.

I would get a good deal on whatever you want now, prices are dropping on them in anticipation of what 2020 will bring, but I would rather get in the air now, with a reliable drone, and not be a guinea pig for DJI new releases.

Whatever you get, they are freaking awesome drones, the occusync is superior in signal than the wifi drones, especially in wifi laden urban areas (airspace where flight is permitted, or course) . . . not sure what an Air 2 would use, as the Air is wifi, would Air 2 be occusync ? Who knows.

Welcome. I just got the M1P, pretty cheap. Worth thinking about. They are tried and true. My only problem is I have had a bunch of ‘stale’ batteries. I guess that happens with old tech, and to their credit, DJI have been pretty helpful sorting it out.

Don't be shy and ask anything if you can't find it by searching .Thumbswayup

Glad they replaced those for you.
Yes, if a store has any lipo battery drone on the shelf for say 12 months or more, there is a risk of batteries being DOA.
Best top buy new from a reputable dealer, then DJI should cover them.

For the OP, if you can found a good deal on a Fly More combo, then do it, the value is great.
Also, research and consider DJI Care Refresh, it's a good and fairly cheap plan that covers you for a relatively cheap replacement if an aircraft is crashed, even if pilot error . . . the catch is you need to recover the drone to send it back.
2 aircraft, first year, and option for 2nd year if you haven't used one or both replacements.

Welcome to this forum from Chicago the Windy City. We love to welcome new members, this forum is international. We have pilots that are very helpful, and qualified in many areas. You already received many suggestions. Here is one more. I have 6 check lists that I use.
1. Pre flight Check list (at base)
2,Pre flight checklist (in field)
3.Takeoff procedure.
4.After takeoff.
5.After landing Checklist.
6.Emergency procedures.
Following these check lists will help you with fewer repairs, etc.
Blue Sky's and safe flying to you.

Hi,
not a pilot yet....just waiting for MA 2 to be released, then decide weather to buy MA 2 or M pro.
suggestions please.
Welcome to Mavic Pilots from Dayton Ohio USA! I usually will go with the latest technology if it seems equal or better on paper. MA2 should be a nice machine, I'm guessing it will start at around $999US though. Fly safe and have fun!
