I'm considering a unorthodox point of view for a flight from a friends farm and wondered if anyone has considered this. I'm old school and like to see the overall view of the pic from the outside looking in if you will. The reason for this is to avoid launching from a business at the edge of the property line as well as less attention of the drone itself. I would still have VLOS from this spot. It would require firing up the drone on the property and setting up the home point then moving to the second point to observe. I like the option of looking down at the screen but I like being at the point of the shot too. I would feel I had a different point of view of the property line and surrounding area with lots of trees it's hard to do this simply looking at the screen. Crazy question I know, but there you are. When moving from the launch point and getting in the car would the signal be lost. I can't see how it would be since the MA2 has such a great range. So before jumping off the cliff would it work with minimal risk?

Couldn't you set up a flight in Litchi or Dronelink, to get your drone to the correct start point, from the position you want to be in, then fly the drone from there? Surely you couldn't be VLOS and driving at the same time?

As long as you maintain a clear, unobstructed line of sight between the antennas and the drone, you should maintain signal.

Scratch that. I'll fly from the business property on a sunday when no ones there. It was just a thought. Apparently DJI had wondered something along this line when they included the option of being able to change the return to home point to a hover or de send when not at the launch point. Many thanks.

What you wish todo can be done. However, unless you are a passenger in a convertible, you would not be able to properly maintain VLOS. What another suggested re: LITCHI can also be done! Regardless, VLOS must be maintained.
