Did he do something incorrect? He stated in the beginning his altitude limit was 18k feet based on location and he stopped at 17.5k. I'm curious if he did something he was not supposed to do.

No, that was legal flight . Being that he is a pilot and that is not a drone.

Beautiful flight! He sure was stoked about it. I’ve been a few thousand above launch in strong thermals with my paraglides (unpowered) and it really is a great feeling. My buddy used to hang glide in the Owens Valley, and they’d get up over 20,000 - using supplemental oxygen.
