Well at least someone else can get some use out of this thread.

Animals are generally interesting if you can take pictures without getting your drone eaten or disturbing them.
For example, I once had a bird fly right past my camera in the two seconds between the timer was set. That by far probably would have been my best picture if it took a few seconds earlier.

I would just like to add, that for quite a few years I was a member of a professional photographers organization. The only reason I mention that now is because every month this group of the best photographers in the San Francisco Bay area had a print competition. I entered the competition every time I could. One of the main benefits was that the panel of judges would often comment on the strengths and weaknesses of photos that had been entered into the competition. It was there and in that manner that I learned a lot about how I could improve my own photographs
