I've searched the forum but I cannot find a good thread that shows me what filters and settings to use in snowy conditions. Snowy but overcast, snow with sun,...

The pictures I shot this morning came out too flat, or too black and white. I could not find a sweet spot.

Is there someone who can point me in the right direction?

Thank you.WhatsApp Image 2017-12-09 at 10.35.13.jpeg

Video and photos in snow are somewhat tricky, cameras will read the scene as 'too bright' and try to normalise by reducing exposure.
Result will be rather muddy underexposed snow scenes.
So usually you need to over-expose by at least one stop (+1) or more.

In this case light looks poor, you will always get better results in brighter conditions
There seems to be a general mistiness in the mid/far distance but you have good detail on the castle which would respond to some photoshop tweaks.

First, I’d make sure to shoot in RAW and try to find a good editing workflow in post.... if you can. You might also want to see what kind of results the in-camera HDR gives you. While you might want to experiment with white point while shooting, your examples look pretty decent.
