This 1100km coastline is one of the most rugged and pristine in the world. When you stand on top of the 70 metre high cliffs of the Bight there is nothing between you and Antarctica. Currently there is a proposal from a Norwegian oil company to drill this area for oil.

Shot in HLG, at 25P @1/50th always, I try to keep aperture at f4 by using polar pro filters (I have ND4 up to 64), but sometimes "on-the-run" circumstances force me to use the range f2.8 to f5.6.Of course HLG is not for everyone, I use it as I license to
people like BBC, NHK, Discovery etc. as they are all wanting HDR footage.

They are near Elliston SA but there are lots of white dune fields right across the Southern coast and sometimes far inland as well (even parts of the Simpson Desert). I was only thinking the other day that every state, including Tasmania, has these large white dune fields, so we are not all red sand!

Thanks, although I cut to music I try not to fall into the trap of cutting something short for the sake of it, for me it is more about experiencing the place than just making a video. So if I think a longer shot helps understand the feel of the place better I leave it in like that, if you get my drift!

Thanks Hauptmann, My only regret now is I didn't spend a lot more time around those cliffs and get closer to the waves. Of course I was blessed to get away with not losing the drone though! There were very high winds, and shooting in HLG the contrast on the screen made it very difficult to judge just how high above the water I actually was, but I had committed to a confident-looking "dive" shot and high risk can also have big rewards. If there was hesitation in the shot it wouldn't have looked powerful.
