In your drone's manual, there will be a section titled Linking the Remote Controller.
That tells you exactly what you would need to do.

You don't say which model drone you have.
Here is the relevant section of the manual for the Mini 3.
It should be similar for whatever model you have, but there may be some differences so check your manual.

In addition, are you asking about connecting controller B to the drone as a replacement for controller A?
Or are you asking about the possibility of having both A&B paired to the drone?

The latter is possible with a few drones but not many.

I got a "normal" DJI controller that uses the phone with my 3s.
I had the Mini3 Pro with the display RC DJI-RC and I paired it with that according to instructions.
I had a case come up where I needed to re-pair it with the original controller.
It said something that may be of interest - it unpaired from the DJI-RC but it also said I had the option to fly it up to 5 times with the new controller and then it would revert.
