Palm control in a no-fly zone

I tried to use palm/gesture control in a no-fly zone. My gimbal looked at me then pointed down and did not respond to my hand gestures. (Using a Mavic Air)

No surprises there. The FC will disable motors once it's aware the AC is in a no flight zone. But thinking about it, it would have been nice if DJI made an exception to this mode since it is limited to 3m vertically and 7 meters laterally anyway. I know, wishful thinking.
