PANIC TIME lost RC

I was out on a flight path I've flown often , when out of the blue I lost RC connection . At that moment I realized I didn't know what to do ? Thank goodness after about 30 seconds RTH
took over . My question to the forum is
If RTH hadn't SMA , what could've I done to regain control before total panic locked me up.

Reboot everything and reconnect.

You can also try to move closer or change your position to send a stronger signal out to the aircraft. But usually, once RTH kicks in, the drone will move closer to you so it gets a better signal anyway.
