Payload mode coming on for no reason

Im getting the payload warning randomly with thes the bare mini flying. Never had any kind of payload before. I dont get it. It came on far from home and wouldnt let me fly back. Had to land in the woods and go for a long hike to find it. This is the dumbest thing ever.
