Phone not connecting to controller (android)

Urgh. All was working fine with my mini 2 plus note 9 but now all of a sudden my phone doesn't connect to the remote
checked cable, checked plugged in. tried different types of cable eg apple with different phones, and works fine.
I just don't know if this is hardware or software. Any ideas?

Can you connect the phone to a computer with the original cable, if so does the computer see the phone and allow you look inside the phone etc.?
I think it might be a USB-C connector on the controller end, if so just make sure the computer has a USB-C port.
Can any other cable in your possession connect the phone to a computer?

yes, appears to be the cable. i tried an adapter on the mini usb and it works fine.
annoying given i have used it twice. spose best buy a new one rather than starting a whole thing return

I'd get in touch with DJI and ask about a replacement cable under warranty. I got a pair of MM props off them because my MM arrived with flattened blades.
Are you sure it isn't the phone's socket or are USB-C less fragile than mUSB?
