Picked up a used Mavic Air for a good price and it finally got here. I live in a rural area so things are sometimes slow. I got everything talking to one another, did all the firmware updates along with the safe flight updates. Took the drone outside to do a little flying and this thing is a blast! I have a little land so I knew I could fly without the worry of my neighbors getting mad. The first flight was getting comfortable with the controls. The next few will be taking some photos and video's. Any suggestions are welcome to help me along. I already dabble in photography a bit. I'm using a tablet to fly with but the glare makes it hard to see. What are some of you using to deal with this?

Welcome to the forum Out_There . . . glad you are enjoying yourself. You have several options for screen glare. Use the search tool (upper right hand corner) and search 'screen glare' . . . options are there.

Enjoy yourself. Spin up daily and fly safe!

Welcome to the wonderful world of UAVs! One of the top 3 things I would suggest to get those most enjoyment out of your new hobby are as follows:
1) Read throughly the owners manual.
2) Understand the rules and regulations that apply to you nationally and locally.
3) Drill and practice controlled flight without GPS. There are many videos on YouTube that you can follow for learning the fundamental for safe flight.
(Bonus tip)
4) Expound upon your photography background with learning HD video editing. There are a lot of free editing programs online to get you started.

If you have questions, please look through the extensive # of threads here on this forum to get your answers. If you can’t find the answer, post your question. The tight community here are very helpful and knowledgeable.
