I have seen may videos on Youtube regarding the ED, seeing that the thermal is good but really weak in indetifying human beings from 100ft-150 ft or more, does anyone think this is a firmware issue that DJI can update on their end, or will it be that a stronger camera will have to be installed on the birds? Does anyone own the Boson flir and if so, how do they rate the system. The new Boson flir 2.0 is also something i am interested. Please share your views with me, as i will be making a decision very soon. Possibly a MPz with the boson2.0 or maybe the ED with hopes DJI can integrate or update a better software for greater clarity.

That's a sensor limitation. The Lepton sensor is only 120x160 px.
To improve, another sensor must be used. (e.g. a BOSON or TAU)

You might read the following thread: Mavic 2 Flir - An Analysis

I doubt that.

I own the M2ED and a M200 w. XT2 640 and can only compare these two:

The M2ED FLIR cam is IMO only good for low altitude SAR missions. (< 100 ft AGL)
If you or your customers are satisfied with colorful images only presenting where its cooler/hotter on a specific area, you are good to go with the M2ED.
For technical missions, such as mapping or inspections with the M2ED, in combination with its low resolution sensor, does not create radiometric images (.RJPG) for post processing w. FLIR tools or similar and documenting the missions.

For serious work the XT2 has definitely the preference.
