Yesterday, I tried the precision landing feature in my MM. I took off from my H landing pad, fly away to 100 meters up, 500 meters away, and then I pressed the RTH button. Three times I tried it, and three times the MM landed outside the landing pad. The nearest is like 2 meters away outside the pad. From all the hype that I heard, they boasted that the MM can consistently land within the landing pad. So is this hype about precision landing is an exaggeration or is there a problem with my MM?

If your drone landed 2 metres away, you were not using the Precision Landing feature and were using GPS alone.
Read the Precision Landing feature in the manual to see how to use it properly.

as stated in post #3 there is no precision landing feature at this time
it just uses GPS to get a fix before take off ,i have found that it comes pretty close to my take off mat if i use RTH
one thing it will do on a RTH is hover above the ground and not land if it does not like what's below it this will only work in smart RTH
it is important not to take off till you hear the home point confirmation message

I'm not saying you did this, but most 'precision landing' RTH problems are due to the Mavic not being given time to get a fully accurate 3D fix before it's shot out into the wild blue yonder. As OMM says above, you do need to wait to get all the confirmations of GPS lock and Home-point recorded before you do the takeoff.

"Precision landing" means that the drone does not rely on GPS co-ordinates only, but also on several photos of the takeoff place taken by the ground sensor camera.
As written already before, the Mini does not support this feature.

Post #4 is an old video (posted 1st November) clearly a Beta version of the app. The later versions do show the number of satellites. To my mind when, such important changes are made, these out of date videos should be removed, they give the device an un necessary bad name. Just my thoughts.
