New to the Mavic. 8 flights now. Been dumping footage into Premiere, messing, going back out. Could use some guidance from those with more experience as I have a shoot coming up.
Dlog as of February 2017 update: worth it? Even at 45 or 60mbps?
PolarPro filters: worth it? Do they soften the image at all? (ie affect sharpness settings)
D-Cinelike VS D-log: different sharpness settings?
4k vs 2.7k: different sharpness settings?
What are your ideal settings and why? I am after a filmic look, not overly sharpened digital look, a bit more vintage and smoother. Because I don't have sufficient time to really test in all lighting conditions etc.
I can't confirm this isn't a different variable (ie shutter speed or light conditions), but -2 sharpness in Dlog seems to get things kind of muddy? Perhaps -1 is best?
Dlog def seems to have better DR than cinelike?
Finally: 2.7K (recorded @ 45mbps) scaled down to 1080p, or 4K (@ 60mbps) scaled down to 1080p? Does the 4K stretch the codec too thin, and/or do you notice the 4K creating an overly sharpened look?
