Problems charging the controller

Hi All,
I’m new to this site and I’ve just bought my first drone! A Mavic Mini.
But I’m experiencing a strange problem trying to charge the controller.
Bear in mind it’s not been charged for about 2 months.
When I plug the controller in to charge I get all the LED’s lighting up one at a time. It will do this three times before all the LED’s stay lite up. Then it will repeat the sequence. I’ve let it go on like this for two days.
Then when I unplug it from the charger, nothing! No power at all.
When its plugged back into the charger I can press the on/off button and it turns on and beeps for a while then I turn it off.
Is there some sort of mode that the controller has switched to since the battery was left uncharged for two months or do I need to replace the battery? Anyone else experienced this?

What button sequence are you using to try to switch it on?

Hi iittii Welcome to Mavic Pilots.
I don’t Imagen it will be because it wasn't charged for 2 months, a new one it could sit on a shop shelf for a lot longer than that.
Did you press once then press & hold the power button ?

Hi, short press of the power on button then press and hold. The LED’s don’t light up at all and the controller doesn’t come on.

Yes you are right about the storage.
I did press once and then press and hold but it appears dead.
I think I might need to replace the batteries. Or open it up and see if there’s any loose connections.
