Question about FAA Registration

I have ordered my 1st drone (MA2) and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I'm thinking ahead in terms of registering the drone with the FAA.

Is there any part of this process I can start in advance of receiving the drone?

Do most people go directly to the FAA.gov website or to a third party site (faadrone.org)? I know it's $5 directly with the FAA and $25? with faadrone? Does anyone go that route (faadrone) for any good reason?

Assuming I use the FAA site, is the process all electronic.....What's the turn-around? Immediate via web?

Yes, don't go any where else except the official FAA website to register. All others are scams.

Also as a recreational pilot you are registering yourself so your registration number covers you even if you get another drone. Part 107 you register each individual drone.

Same as you, first time buy a drone and waiting for it delivery. Mine is shipped on last Sunday night with DHL. How about yours?

Mine arrived at my dealer's store and should be in-transit to me by Wednesday...so maybe by early next week!

I still have a few months left. man, I can't believe how many bad sites there out there scamming people the FFA should shut them down...
