I posted a flight log here:
DJI Flight Log Viewer - PhantomHelp.com

My home point is on the viewing platform to the right of the flight path. The home point and flight path seems slightly off Is this about the right amount of accuracy I should expect?

GPS can give accuracy within approx 2 metres most of the time.
But for the flight in question, GPS coverage at the start of the flight was not very good and the drone was aware of that.
Until 0:06.2 GPS health is shown as 4/5 but after that the drone was prepared to rate GPS health as 5/5.
This may have been due to partial masking by terrain or vegetation or a poor spread of GPS satellites.

When you see 5 bars next to the GPS icon on your screen, you are getting full accuracy but the location data accuracy may be inaccurate if less than 5 bars are displayed.

Thanks for pointing that out... I appreciate the tip. Terrain was definitely a factor.

Here is a different flight:

Accuracy still off by about 10 meters. GPS Health is 5.

Different question though...How can I look at the effect the wind may have had on my flight? I had some updrafts as I put it over the lip of a cliff, and then as I took a "dronie", the Air would not go straight back...and kept drifting off course.

This is most likely a mapping problem - not a GPS issue. Mapping of areas with large vertical excursions is prone to these kinds of errors - I think due to relatively low resolution of the DEMs. Your mobile device GPS data also indicate the same location, around 10 meters off the aerial imagery of the platform.

Thanks again. This is good info to know as many a drone is lost in these types of conditions, and folks might not take this into account with their search parameters.

If you want to check - get some GPS coordinates for your deck with an accurate GPS unit or use a GPS averaging app on your phone such as onAverage.

That deck is about a 9 mile hike from the trailhead. Maybe next time? :)

Loved this thread, lots to learn! Love the DJI Flight Records, so insightful.
