I’m new to the drone world, but have used 2.4 ghz , I’m pretty sure two way communications are going on. what ever you get needs to amplify the Tx, increase antenna gain, unless there is a Tx boost for the drone?

One option not mentioned here yet is the Alienware extenders; 13dB. I am very happy with mine. Full Rx and Tx to the drone at 4 miles, ie limit of range for safe RTH.
