Looks like most range extending antenna are circular polarized. Isn't the mavic itself linear? I've been doing home built for years and never mixed polarization. Why do most antenna sold to extend the range circular?

You're absolutely correct. Linear on linear is how it should be but circular also works. Depends on location. Sometimes one antenna seems to work better and if it's by chance a circular one everyone thinks that's the ticket. Trial and error with this one really. I also had more success with a better circular antenna but real gain comes from boosting the signal. When boosted the right way I notice little difference, circular works as good as linear. The rest depends on the design you like...
