Hi Guys.

Anyone that has (or have had) both a DJI RC and RC Pro for their M3 care to comment on range between the 2 ?

For background, I've been using an RC and the range is a non-issue when flying LOS, even in urban environments. I thought that an RC Pro would be even better with it's external antennas. But I tried one on a few locations, and while I did not loose signal, the bars started to drop consistently at about 1500 feet LOS.

Maybe the RC Pro I tried had an issue. But otherwise it worked great and the antennas appeared un-damaged.

TIA

Range entirely depends upon location. However, all other things being equal, the RC Pro has significantly better range than the DJI RC among many other improvements.

What @GadgetGuy said. I use have both for my Mavic 3 Pros. My primary drone is bound to the RC Pro. But if I switch drones in the field, I bind my secondary drone to the RC Pro. If it's a short flight, I may just leave it on the RC controller. But when if I'm switching drones for maintenance or to give the other drone some airtime to keep the hours about the same in each, I always use the RC Pro at the controller.

Okay, good to know. The RC Pro I used must have an internal problem then. Thanks for the replies.

I only have limited flight time with my Mavic 3 Pro and a RC Pro (RM510, not 510B) and recently found that I started to lose signal around 1.0-1.2km however this was through trees.

I have many flights operating at a max of 1500' in high density suburban environments that doubtlessly had a lot of wifi band noise and various patches of 150' +/- conifer forests. And using the DJI RC, I never lost a single bar of signal. In those same environments, the RC Pro I was using would drop a bar here and there. And once in a while, a popup about signal interference which I never saw on the RC.
