RAW (DNG) Format File Query

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting and I was wondering why when I import my RAW stills from my Mavic Pro they come out much smaller (dimensions wise) rather than JPEGs. The file sizes are bigger on RAW, but somehow when I open them on the computer they come out to only 960x540 pixels despite being 18mbs in size. In comparison, the JPEGs are coming out to 4000x3000.

Does anyone have an explanation to how this is or what I am doing wrong?

You're not using proper RAW processing software, so all you're seeing is the small embedded preview.

Yes, I just discovered the thread on this site via a very convulted google search. Thanks for the reply! Guess I have to get better image editing software...
