RC2 and Mini 3 Pro?

From what I've read, and including AI responses, it appears the the RC2 controller and the Mini 3 Pro are not compatible.
Is that still the case or has DJI done anything with updates to make them talk to each other?

I have a DJI Mini 3 and just bought a DJI RC controller and this combination works fine.

But not with the RC-2 that has the better range because of the external antennas.
