Hi,

I would like to know of advantages/ disadvantage of MP4 vs MOV video recoding. Thanks for the help.

I don't think there's much of a difference technically. It's more of a matter of what you would be using them for. MOV is more often used with Apple/QTime where MP4 with PCs and such. MP4 probably most universal.

And you can even change swap the file extension name (.mov or .mp4) between the 2 in Windows Explorer and the file still plays perfectly, so there can't be much difference between them.

Just like renaming an MP4 file extension to an MKV file extension, or vice versa....the renamed file will play fine in Windows.
