It is a shipping/storing protector. It is very useful if you need to cram the RC in a tight spot like the FMC bag.

I don't remember seeing that when I bought my MP2. Did it come in the original box or is it an aftermarket add-on?
i have that protector for my mpp and i’m sure it has probably kept my rc from being damaged while its in my fly more bag
It protects the sticks and the screen when you shove the controller in a back pack or something like that.
Yes they are aftermarket but you don't really need it because you can remove the joysticks
Thanks, that's it! Seems kind of useless since the joysticks can be unscrewed and stowed in the controller body. But I guess if you get tired of removing and replacing them it can be a help.
I would prefer the cover in lieu of dropping and losing them.

I have a similar thing which completely covers the screen and joysticks on a smart controller. Means you just stick it on in seconds and stick in your case. No broken sticks and no scratched screen.

I did not get one when I ordered the fly-more kit. But I did purchase it on my own - black version. I've now got a larger version for the Smart Controller (pygtech) and you don't have to mess with the sticks, and it protects the potentially fragile 5-d button and also the screen. Even with it on my SC, I was able to pack the Zoom, two extra batteries and the smart controller into that skimpy fly-more bag.

Neither did I. Mine was an unexpected extra that came with the tablet holder I bought separately.
Got the stl file and sent it to my local library for printing...but the person who does it will be out till next Wednesday.
yes, several, look on ebay. Also for the Mavic 2 controller to save you have to take off the sticks and protecting them from being jammed into a position in your bag. Been out for years, these things. They may be called controller stick protectors.
