Hi all,

I've been here for a while, just reading posts, features, discussions and all that related stuff.
At the beginning I was ready to buy a Mavic, then, the P4P came in and I was very interested in it, even with that expensive price...
Meanwhile I've been watching videos, reading articles and reviews on the net and the Mavic is the drone I've decided to buy.
The question is, should I buy a new one or the refurbished is almost the same. The price is very different, that's for sure.
So I would like to hear from you about this, please.

Thanks

If price is larger part of the purchase, I'd certainly consider a refurb from DJI. It's going to pretty much brand new and with the same warranty. I think they run right around $800 so they save $200. If I were to get one now, I'd buy a refurb in a heartbeat.

I have a refurb P4, couldn't tell the difference from new. I just ordered a refurb Mavic, I have no qualms. As long as the refurb is from an authorized dealer, same warranty as new.

I don't personally see the point in paying $200 more for essentially the same thing. The complexity of these things is such that I doubt there is a great difference in defect rate between new or refurb.

I think all refurbs start from DJI. Perhaps they _might_ sell them to other retailers to sell. When I looked, they were all the same price so if someone else is selling them, I'd say you are probably going to see the same price anyway. If that is correct, I'd lean toward buying right from DJI. It's up to the buyer but it's just my 2 cents.

They do all seem to be the same price, but for example, I got mine from Newegg (really DJI) and was able to use EBates for another 2% off plus Newegg was offering $40 in credit for a future purchase. So, if you're a cheap *** like me, you can find ways to shave a little off!

Cheap? No. Smart! I'll walk 10 miles to save a dollar.

I think it's really DJI selling them and those other places are just drops for the listing. DJI even sells them direct on ebay.

Thanks for your replies.
I was almost sure that the refurb is practically the same and with a small but lower price.
And since we can't tell the difference, I will probably buy one.

Cheers
