When you activate it should be an automatic part of the process.

Well i guess I activated it, because the software shows my profile.

DJI Fly will prompt you to activate the drone.

If the motors start I believe it has done the deed for you.
The "profile" is created when you instal etc. the App on the phone but a flight history is available in there which is based of the .txt flight logs 'in' the App on the phone. You can probably choose whether or not to share/sync your flight records with DJI.
I choose not to.

The purpose of activation is mainly to start the warranty clock, and the 48 hour window to link a purchased Care Refresh to the AC hassle free. It's not really to tie the AC to a user.

The app is tied to your DJI account, and incidentally to any flight you make with that app, including if you used it to fly your friend's Mavic.
