Hi guys!
The other day when my air 2s came to an emergency semi-crash landing from ~870 feet after a battery malfunction took me from 30% battery to 0% without warning, the front left leg stand busted and needed to be replaced…
(Yes I know I’m EXTREMELY lucky this was the extent of the damage!!)
In order to release the original little LED board from the old busted piece, I actually had to cut the plastic hole on the top of the broken leg section and bend it so the board would come free, I couldn’t get it to go through the hole it’s SUPPOSED to go through to save my life.
I got an entire new front left leg assembly (two, actually, Amazon mishap) and I had no trouble unscrewing the intact replacement plastic piece from it to put on my drone.
However, no matter HOW I try to get that **** LED board back through that top square hole from inside the leg to the outside (where the lens cover goes over it), I CANNOT get the **** thing to fit through the hole!
Is there some secret trick to doing this? Am I not rotating it the correct way? I’ve tried straight through, I’ve tried at a diagonal, I’ve tried pulling it through with needle nosed pliers, all to no avail!
Would I be better off just busting out my solder iron, melting the connections from the wires to the LED board and disconnecting them, then passing the wires through the hole and re-soldering them back to the board on the outside? My gut tells me that’s probably the most prudent procedure, but I just wanted to check with y’all first to be sure!
Thank you!
Anna-Maria
