Can I set the Mavic location as home point and then pick the quad up and drive 1 mile, launch, And then hit RTH.... Will the quad go back to where I initially set as home point.... ?

Home point is set at launch. When the props stop, a new home point will be set when they start again.

Sounds like what you want to do could maybe be accomplished with something like Litchi? You can program a flight path, and when it hits your last programmed destination, it can be set to land.

Just hover and listen for the “Home point has been set...” before taking off each time..
