This non-OEM battery flew my MPP well for 2 years and 65 charges. After several months of non-use, however, I discovered it starting to bulge today, when it would not audibly click into place.
Thanks to what I've learned from wise users of this forum, I know to discard this battery immediately at my local battery store. Note, it does seat firmly (can't pull it out), powers the drone fine, and I think its cell voltages still look okay too (yes?). But without that safety "click", I don't trust it to stay seated in flight as it warms, expands, and gets jostled around. I've read enough "mysterious mid-air loss of power" threads here to not throw caution to the wind.
However, I'm wondering whether I might have prolonged this battery's life by being more diligent about actively discharging it during stretches of non-use, versus relying on its intelligent discharge capability.
I'm curious to know for comparison, what is considered a healthy active lifespan/charge cycles for a DJI MP battery?
