Sailing Indonesia on our 39ft Crowther Catamaran we are in constant search of that special, far away place, somewhere the tourist hoards cant get to or dont know about yet.

We are sailing around the northern tip of Sulawesi and Mark, one of our top tier Patrons joins us. Hah, the world out here is much safer place than you imagine. You've a thousand times higher chance of getting shot in the US where any loony can buy a gun than in most parts of the world.

Most parts of the world? Try the Middle East, Africa, South America, parts of the Caribbean or Mexico. I'll take 1000x odds because at least here, I can defend myself, unlike "most parts of the world". Get some teens in Britain, or any other country for that matter, with clubs or knifes looking at an old guy like me as an easy target. What are my chances in that situation? Two worn out knees prevent me from running, not that someone my age could run away from someone 50-60 years younger than they are. Nor am I likely to be able to fight against such odds. 911? In a situation like that, I'll take 9mm over 911 any day of the week and twice on Sunday. As someone once stated, "God created all men, but Samuel Colt made them equal."

Watching way too much BS news mate. I’ve traveled extensively in those countries you mentioned. Sure there are risks but where is there no risks? In 30 years of traveling the globe I’ve never beeen attacked or had to run, almost never even felt threatened. Humans are in general very nice. The entire world looks at your gun problem and just shakes its head. There is nowhere with the mass shootings you have. It’s not a coincidence, it’s just idiocy and blindness to facts.
