What are the issues you've been experiencing with note4

Mine crashed a lot (the Note 4 not the Mavic) so I stopped using it and bought an iPhone 6s+ for use with my Mavic and its been flawless. See other recent thread below...

Using a nib Note 4 with micro usb cable that comes with mp's RC (side mount) - loaded with only GOApp + Google Map's - dozen or so flights works just fine.

What are the issues you've been experiencing with note4

I just tried my old Note 4 on the RC. I uninstalled all the apps I downloaded from the Play Store, except the bloatware that comes from Sprint and Samsung, however, I did Disable them.

I also optimized the Android and RC settings. Here is what helped me:

As for recording, doesn't the recording take place on the aircraft with the Micro USB card?
