Could someone tell me how to get satellite map turned on or hybrid , do I need the wi fi on maybe ?

There's no such thing as a satellite map.
The app has a map and the GPS location of your drone can be displayed on it.
The app downloads the map from the internet if your phone or tablet has an internet connection.

To show satellite or hybrid maps you must have internet connection, I use my phone as a hotspot with my Smart Controller.
Offline / Cached maps only show standard map view.

Thanks Cyborg . Thought it might be the case . Just downloading update and will give it a go . I live in the outback of Australia , we have special phones . But I can use an Android to Wi Fi . by changing things over a bit .

OK .. Lots of people (wrongly) think the maps come from GPS and refer to them as satellite maps.
The OP might have meant the satellite view on the map.
