I would never have thought that the rock was 50 ft high , that could have happened to anyone including me however the big mistake was going around the rock , this is what makes Remote Landing so difficult and why it is best to land not in a clearing but on top of anything that give you a better of line of sight. This serves as as a fantastic Example of how quick that signal can be lost . No amount of extra antenna would have helped as all drones are very prone to signal loss when blocked by building , let alone a tiny mountain.

That was good. Kinda amazing it survived.

Remember folks. You can set RTH to be as high as you want and higher is generally safer. Usually you can regain connection if it ascends so even if say 120m seems unreasonably high for RTH you can usually get signal back and then cancel RTH

Whilst that would help to avoid things it doesn't help the MM if it's a bit breezy.
