Sensors off until takeoff

Just got my Air 3S with RC-2 last week and have a question:

When I turn the 3S on and waiting to take off, the sensor icon on the screen is red. Once I take off, it goes to normal. Not a big deal, but was just wondering if this is normal.

Yep that's normal, otherwise we'd be having to listen to that annoying beeping from power-up to take off !

Thanks. I'm coming from a 2S, and it never did that, so I was just curious.
